The Challenge

A Middle East company planning a smart power-equipment factory in Saudi Arabia needed providers capable of delivering an integrated manufacturing solution. Its knowledge centred on established Western suppliers. It lacked a systematic view of Chinese firms with the technology, capacity and potential to deliver an overseas project.

Our Approach

We mapped Chinese providers against technical requirements, production capacity, delivery capability and the project’s operating conditions. We examined evidence of relevant factory processes and tested cooperation interest through business contacts. We also established initial connections with decision-makers so the client could explore the options directly.

The Outcome

Five Chinese smart-factory solution providers were shortlisted following preliminary validation. The client gained options for technical comparison and commercial discussions, alongside competitive alternatives to its established Western suppliers.

Scope: Final supplier qualification, contracting and procurement remain with the client and its advisers.
